Mustang Cross Country 2020-21

David Daniels, Robert Cook, Blaine-Monet Willoughby Set to Lead LVHS Cross Country Teams; First Meet on January 12 in Big Bear.

Due to Covid-19, the 2020 Cross Country Season will have a late start and a shorter season. The first scheduled meet is set for January 12 at Big Bear. This will be the first time that our team will be competing in such cold weather, but we are looking forward to the challenge.

Two returning athletes from the last two seasons are juniors David Daniels and Robert Cook. Robert has been running and preparing all summer and is hoping to run the three-mile course in under 18 minutes. David also hopes to improve his time to less than 18 minutes as well. New incoming freshman to the team include Devin Walker, Dylnn Cagle, and Landon Skjerve. These athletes are ready to put in the miles to make all the smiles.

The girls’ team will include our new student Blaine-Monet Willoughby who ran for Torrance high school last year and is a junior this year. Blaine hopes to compete at a similar level as the boys so watch out! Also new to the team are Sophomores Autumn Peterson, Linda Cossio-Avelar, and freshman, Serenity Petroff.

The other meets are scheduled for January 26 at Riverside Prep, February 9 at AAE and the finals is scheduled for March 2 at ACE. The team is excited to compete and looking to break some Lucerne Valley High School records.
