The Lucerne Valley boys soccer teams fights hard against Helendale at home but fall short, 9-0; the season concludes with a home game Wednesday, Feb. 7 against Riverside Prep.

The Lucerne Valley FFA recently competed at the High Desert Section Competition in Littlerock. Local FFA member Jesus Alcazar won a first place speaking award and will go on to regional competition in March.

The Lady Mustangs faced a tough Big Bear squad during Wednesday's home game. Next up are Academy of Careers & Exploration, Excelsior and Riverside Prep. The latter contest will be the final game of the season.

Middle School teacher Naomi "Ms. O" Oyadomari's AVID class teaches the skills and habits of highly successful college-bound students.

Mr. Douglas Ferber, principal of Lucerne Valley Middle/High School, handed out the monthly awards for students, teachers and classified staff during a recent assembly at the school's gym on January 26.
