The Lucerne Valley Lady Mustangs are hoping for a repeat of their earlier victory over Calvary Murrieta, but this time the stakes are even higher.
The girls basketball team will travel to the Warriors’ gym for the first round of the CIF playoffs on Thursday at 7 p.m. On Dec. 15, Lucerne Valley hosted Murrieta and won 34-32 in a come-from-behind victory. The Lucerne Valley girls are 14-12 overall while Calvary Murrieta has a record of 12-12.
But the Lady Mustangs aren’t the only ones going into the post season. Lucerne Valley’s three wrestlers, Jesse Perez, Isaiah Hernandez and Thomas Salbino, will be heading down to Brea on Friday to compete in the individual CIF playoffs.
