Girls basketball going to playoffs; wrestlers give it their all

Yesterday was a busy day in sports at Lucerne Valley. We started off with our wrestling matches against Big Bear right after school. Jesse Perez fought hard and took the victory in his weight class.  Isaiah Hernandez and Thomas Salbino had amazing matches themselves but came up a bit short.  Our wrestlers will next wrestle here at Lucerne Valley on Jan 29th for league finals

Next, our girls soccer team played a great game against ACE but did eventually drop it to the Eagles. Our boys soccer went on the road and took on ACE, unfortunately they too came up a bit short and lost 3-1.

Next, our girls basketball team officially clinched a playoff spot last night with their 41-32 victory over Excelsior, thanks in part by 16 points from Krystian Otwell and 14 points from Raelean Carmona.  The win brought the Lady Mustangs to an above .500 mark at 12-11.  Your Lady Mustangs will be going to playoffs for the 5th year of the last 6.

Our boys basketball team took on the undefeated Excelsior Boys team and came up short 87-45 although Donovan Moncrief did all he could scoring 22 points on the night.

Just a reminder, this Friday will be senior night for Girls Soccer, Boys Soccer, Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball.  Please come out and support these last home games for the seniors in all the sports!
