The Lucerne Valley High School boys soccer team fought hard against Academy of Careers & Exploration (Helendale) on Friday, February 2, but fell short, losing 9-0 at home.
Quick-footed forward Andres Velasquez, only a sophomore, worked hard on offense. Captain Diego Orozco, a senior, was all over the field. Diego also is an officer on the Lucerne Valley FFA. He shares soccer leadership duties with sophomore forward Saul Macias.

Coached by Matthew Roehl, the Mustangs have an overall record of 4-14 and a league record of 2-12.
The Mustangs face Excelsior Charter in Victorville on Monday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. Their final game will be on Wednesday, Feb. 7 against Riverside Prep at home at 3 p.m.
