The School District presented Middle/High School students Bryan Ezekiel Ortiz (Middle School) and Roberta Fernandez (High School) with their official awards at the November 13th meeting of the district’s Board of Trustees. Assistant Principal Chris Watkins presented the awards to each of the award winners.

Ezekiel Ortiz

“Ezekiel is an awesome 7th grade student,” Mr. Watkins said of Ezekiel. “His positive attitude, genuine kindness make him stand out both in and out of the classroom. He approaches every challenge with determination and curiosity. He is always showing a strong desire to learn and improve each day. Ezekiel is not only hardworking and respectful, but he also supports and uplifts his peers. I could not agree more with the selection of Zeke as the student of the month.  He is always such a positive light in the classroom. He is always pushing himself to do better. Simply put Ezekiel Ortiz is an amazing human being who makes his school community a better place.”

Roberta Fernandez

“Roberta Fernandez is a master of the work ethic,” Mr. Watkins said. “Roberta is kind and a fun girl. She was in the first play from the Performing Arts Club last year and is slotted for the upcoming play. She was president of the class of 2027 last year and duly re-elected. She’s again president this year. She has been an AP member and is currently in charge of the birthday celebrations. Roberta is also a cheer captain for LVHS cheer team. It’s just proof that if you connect to the school you do great things. You really do.”
