Lucerne Valley Middle High School Assistant Principal Chris Watkins introduced the April Students of the Month, Joseph Campbell (Middle School) and Odin Koogle (High School), at the Thursday, April 10, 2025 meeting of the LVUSD’s Board of Trustees.
Joseph Campbell - Middle School
“We have two fine gentlemen here,” Mr. Watkins said. “It’s always a pleasure to do this presentation.”
“This first young man, Joseph Campbell is just a wonderful human being,” according to Mr. Watkins, quoting Joseph’s teacher. “In addition to being academically inclined, Joseph consistently shows kindness and respect towards others. Joseph is a young man with a caring heart. Joseph is a wonderful student, a fantastic choice. He is respectful, responsible and inquisitive and brings a positive attitude to the classroom. He’s a delight to teach. Joseph is a delight to have in the classroom and absolutely deserving of being Student of the Month.”
“Everyone brings energy,” Mr. Watkins added. “And I think the energy Joseph brings to our school and those around him is his calmness and you can really feel it. It’s a friendly smile. It’s not over the top. It’s just a smile with an even keel.”
Odin Koogle - High School
“Some of the words to describe Odin was ‘He was a bit wild,’” Mr. Watkins began. “I said, ‘Wait a second, that’s just good, positive energy!’”
“Odin has made great progress toward growing academically and improving his efforts in class. In terms of his academic progress, his effort and attention has helped him understand concepts quicker. He seems to be more reflective on how things are going in certain situations and he strives toward making great decisions. Odin is a nice, personable young man who works hard to complete assignments and to make sure his grades are as good as they can be.”
“Odin has been involved in sports, and it just goes to show when you connect to the school beyond the instructional you find a passion for things and you get energized to be there,” Mr. Watkins concluded.
