Lucerne Valley’s Brandon Barkley Named ‘Coach of the Year’

Lucerne Valley High School girls basketball Head Coach Brandon Barkley has been named the Agape League’s “Coach of the Year” for the 2021-22 season.
 
Mr. Barkley, who also coaches the boy’s team and serves as the school’s co-athletic director, coached the Lady Mustangs to a perfect 8-0 record in league and 18-11 record overall.
 
Currently Coach Barkley has an overall record of 96 wins and 76 losses for a 0.558 overall winning percentage overall in seven years of coaching the girls’ team. This is his second league title and 6th playoff appearance. Barkley’s teams are 5-6 in 11 playoff games. 
 
Besides coaching basketball, Coach Barkley coached baseball for six years and one season each for Middle School and High School volleyball. Barkley has served as president of the Agape League as its athletic director. He teaches High School math classes that include Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Math 3 and Consumer’s Math.
 
Coach Barkley lives in Apple Valley with his wife Tara, son Grayson and daughter Ensley.
