Lucerne Valley Schools Gear up for 2020

 
While Lucerne Valley public schools are still out for the winter break, several Lucerne Valley High School sports teams are keeping their competitive juices flowing.
 
The Mustang Boys and Girls Basketball teams wrap up the Loma Linda Academy Tournament on Monday, December 30 while the boys soccer team finishes its Loma Linda Tournament competition on Tuesday. Then, on Friday, January 3 from 2 to 4 p.m., the boys soccer team will travel to Arroyo High School in San Bernardino.
 
For the Lucerne Unified School District staff, the winter break comes to an end on Monday, January 6. The staff will gather for the District Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, January 6. David Culberhouse will kick off the day with a presentation entitled “What the Future Holds for Our Students” followed by WFBB - Expository Training, Day 1 for the remainder of Monday for Elementary School teachers. Also on Monday, Middle High School, AVID Training Day 2 also will take place for the AVID LVMHS teachers and administrators.
 
When students return on Tuesday, January 7, LVMHS AVID students will begin selling Smoked Chicken Dinners. The fundraiser runs through Friday, January 17.
 
Sports games also begin for 2020 on Tuesday with Middle School Baseball and Softball teams traveling to Hesperia Christian. The games are schedule to run from about 3 to 4 p.m. The Mustang Girls Basketball team will play Summit Leadership Academy from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., the Mustang Boys will go head to head with Summit Leadership.
 
Wednesday, January 8, is a minimum day for LVES students. At the Middle High School, the Mustang Boys Soccer will take on Excelsior from 3 to 4 p.m. The girls travel to Excelsior for their 3 p.m. game. The Middle High School will hold its School Site Council Meeting at 3:45 p.m.
 
On Thursday, January 9, hearing and vision tests will be conducted for LVES students in Room 5 and 6 from 8 to 11 a.m. and at LVMHS from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
 
The week will conclude with a host of games. Middle School softball will travel to Lake Arrowhead Christian for a game starting at 2:30 p.m. The Colts baseball squad will face Lake Arrowhead Christian at 3 p.m.
 
Meanwhile, the Mustang Girls Soccer will travel to Mojave on Friday for a 3 p.m. game. The Boys Soccer game will start at 5 p.m. At 5:30 on Friday, the Mustang Girls will host Silver Valley. Mustang Boys Basketball will host Silver Valley at 7 p.m. on Friday.
