Ninth-grader Aurora Berletich successfully spearheaded drive to get more books at the Media Center/Library.
At the beginning of the year, 9th grader Aurora Berletich decided that a bigger student library was something that she and her peers would love to see at our school.
Aurora set out to make a petition to have our student body sign, in order for the school to purchase more books and shelves so that the (somewhat small) student library that is located in our Media Center, could grow and benefit the kids. Aurora's hard work and diligent mindset worked and with 164 student signatures she then presented the petition to our administration and it was decided that more books in the student library was a great idea. Aurora also presented admin with a list of titles the students would like to see included and, once approved, the books were ordered.

Alongside Ms. Laura Rowland who is in charge of the Media Center, the two brainstormed placement, shelving, and signage. With the help of maintenance, Ms. Rowland assembled the shelves and Aurora's list of books began to flood in.
Thank you so much to Aurora for being an amazing young lady. Our new student library looks amazing and is just the thing to implement the school's new Sustained Silent Reading Program. Thank you also to our Administration, maintenance, and Ms. Rowland for working with Aurora to make this project a reality. Stop by the Media Center and check out the new library!

When completed, the new book shelves were a sight to behold.
