The top students from the Lucerne Valley High School Class of 2023 were announced during the Senior Awards ceremony in the Sgt. Brian Walker Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Principal Jason Story and Assistant Superintendent Nate Lambdin presented the awards with others participating.
Christian Gutierrez, who had the top grade point average, was named valedictorian of the class with Alexa Orozco named the salutatorian. Other top five students in the class are Linda Cossio Avelar, Ian Collins and Davianna Enderle.
Student-athlete Kailey Quintero, who helped lead the Lady Mustang basketball team to the best-ever record, won the coveted Crystal Mustang award. Jesse Gutierrez was given the Counselor’s Choice Award, and Ian Hess was given the Principal’s Choice Award.
